Getting Problem In Displaying Chromecast On Windows Computer Screen?

Chromecast is one of the widely used devices. It is connected to the TV to play media from local sources like phone, tablet or laptop wirelessly. You can control the playback controls of what you are playing through your mobile from the mobile itself by downloading and installing the Chromecast app in it. So, it is considered the best source of entertainment for the complete family.

The process of configuring the Chromecast is not the same for Windows PC. In this, you have to connect the Chromecast to the device on which you want to see the display. You can play content from a computer on your TV with the help of Chromecast and chrome browser installed on Windows PC. There are some people who are getting the problem in casting the content from the computer screen. Let’s discuss the troubleshooting steps for the same today.

How to cast content from windows PC to chromecast?

To cast the content, you just have to go to ‘Action button’ from the bottom right of the screen. Here you will find a taskbar. Click on ‘Winkey+A’

Go to ‘Expand’ given next to the quick toggles. Here you have to go to ‘Connect’.

Now, you will find your Chromecast being displayed in the list. Click on it to start casting the content from the computer to the big screen.

If you are getting this problem, then the very first thing to check is the Wi-Fi connection. Whether both the devices are connected to the same network or not. If yes, then follow the below-mentioned troubleshooting steps.

  1. Switch on Network sharing: Open Cortana search box and enter Network status in it. Click on ‘Network status’ from the list of results displayed on the screen.

Go to ‘Network sharing center’. This is available at the bottom of the screen.

Go to ‘Advanced sharing settings’. Make sure that the Network discovery and the file sharing option is enabled on your device.

Click to save the changes.

  1. Update the network card driver: For this, you need to over to ‘Device manager’ from the ‘My computer’ section.
  2. Update your network drivers for adapters.
  3. Restart your computer once the update process gets completed.
  1. Reset Streaming permissions: This step may take some time. Enter window media player in the search box. Click on the particular box to open windows media player.

Go to ‘Stream’ and click on the option which says, ‘Allow access to home media’.

Now, you will find opened on the screen, click to allow internet access to the home devices.

Once you click on it, a successful message for the same will be displayed on the screen. Click ‘OK’.

Go to ‘Stream’ option again and enable ‘Turn on media streaming’ option form the windows.

Click OK to save the changes.

Now check the list and see if you are getting the local network on it or not. If yes, then click on ‘Allow all’ option.

Click OK to save and go to ‘Stream’ menu again. Check that ‘Automatically allow devices to play my media’ is ticked or not.

Close media player.
